Diabetes mellitus is a common endocrine disorder that
is diagnosed in around three to five per 1000 dogs and

cats. The diabetes management involves veterinary care
and daily routine at home. Dr Linda Horspool BVMS
(1988), PhD (1992), DipECVPT (2000), MRCVS and RCVS,
recognised specialist in pharmacology and toxicology
(2015), advises how veterinarians should approach clients
in order to provide the best conceivable treatment which is
beneficial for their pets.
